New Instructor FAQ’s
Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by our leadership team. The application window remains open through March 30, 2026. After that date, we’ll carefully evaluate all candidates and reach out to those selected to move forward in the process.
If you’re invited to audition, you’ll receive details including your assigned date, time, and location. Audition times will be finalized based on overall interest and availability
Following auditions, selected candidates will be notified and offered a spot in our Instructor Training Program.
Our training is immersive and comprehensive, covering both FORM studio spaces – the TREAD/BUILD room and the FORM room. The program typically spans 4-6 weeks.
Trainees should plan for:
One weekly Zoom session
One in-person studio session (location announced in advance) focused on mic work and hands-on coaching practice
Occasional weekend sessions built into the schedule
This is an active, skill-building experience designed to prepare you to confidently lead in each studio space.
Not necessarily. While professional credentials are a great asset, they are not a prerequisite for submitting an application.
If you’re chosen to join our team, you will be expected to earn your
Group Fitness Instructor Certification through a reputable online training course, such as NASM, ISSA, or ACE within the first 6 months of coaching.
In addition, we provide in-house education to support your development. This includes a dedicated barbell training series covering foundational lifts such as the deadlift, bench press, back squat, hip thrust, and key push/pull movement patterns. Our goal is to ensure every instructor is confident, technically sound, and prepared to coach safely and effectively.
Ideally, yes – we value coaches who feel comfortable leading in both rooms and across different formats. That kind of versatility strengthens both the team and the client experience.
That said, we also understand that every instructor has unique strengths. Before auditions and again prior to the start of training, we’ll have a conversation about where you shine, what excites you, and which formats feel like the best fit. From there, we’ll shape your development path and future schedule in a way that supports both you and the studio.
Absolutely. The coaches who thrive here are the ones who are fully immersed in the studio culture and genuinely connected to the people they’re leading. Knowing our members – their goals, injuries, personalities, and progress – matters.
We ask instructors to commit to teaching at least two classes each week, with one of those potentially falling on a weekend. Consistency is key for both you and the community.
We also expect our coaches to be students! Attending a minimum of two classes per week keeps your coaching sharp, strengthens your eye for programming, and deepens your connection to the member experience. The more time you spend in the studio, the stronger your impact becomes.
You’re welcome to apply, but we strongly recommend experiencing the studio first. Before stepping into auditions, you should attend at least one TREAD class and one FORM class.
Understanding our class formats, coaching style, and overall energy will give you a much clearer picture of who we are- and it will help you feel far more prepared during the audition process. It’s hard to step confidently into a coaching role if you haven’t seen (and felt) what happens in the room.
Plus, spending time in the studio is the best way to decide if it’s truly the right fit for you.
Our Instructor Training is an in-depth, hands-on experience that involves significant mentorship, programming, and support from our leadership team. The tuition for the program is $550.
That said, we never want finances to be the reason someone doesn’t pursue an opportunity they’re excited about. If the cost feels like a stretch, we still encourage you to submit your application. We’re always open to a conversation and will explore options together if needed.
Show up. Immerse yourself. Be present at the studio!
Spend time taking classes, observing different coaches, and connecting with the team. Many of our strongest instructors started out exactly that way – as consistent members who fell in love with the craft before ever picking up a mic.
The more familiar you are with our coaching style, structure, and flow, the more confident and prepared you’ll feel if you’re invited to audition. There’s no better prep than being in the environment and experiencing it firsthand.
